LOCALTOPIA is St. Pete’s largest “Community Celebration of All Things Local.” The 2021 festival will showcase *nearly 200* of our city’s favorite independent businesses and community organizations. The event features:
LOCALTOPIA is organized by Keep Saint Petersburg Local (KSPL), a non-profit organization, affiliated with the American Independent Business Alliance, working to build a thriving local economy and a unique community. KSPL does this by nurturing connections for and acting as the voice of locally-owned, independent businesses and by raising awareness of the importance of buying local.
KSPL was founded on November 19, 2011 and was officially launched on January 31, 2012. The first LOCALTOPIA took place on February 1, 2014. LOCALTOPIA is also KSPL’s annual anniversary celebration. Learn more about KSPL and the Alliance’s members HERE.

Yes, and we’d like for it to remain a free community event. However, it costs a lot to put on the largest festival celebrating all things local! Please consider throwing something into the tip jars at the “Local Thirst Stations” to spread the local love.
Thanks for asking! This grassroots, volunteer-powered festival would not be possible without our awesome volunteers! Please note that volunteers must wear a mask at all times (we will supply masks, or you can wear one of your own choosing, and we will also supply face shields to those who wish to wear one over their mask). Volunteers must be prepared to follow ALL other measures in our COVID-19 Plan (review the Plan HERE).

Absolutely! There’s a whole Family Village for our local families to enjoy! Alas, because of the pandemic some of the wonderful, engaging experiences that are usually at Localtopia will not be possible for 2021. However, we will have some exciting, new safely-distanced street art experiences, and performers for all ages to enjoy.
We know it takes a village to raise a child. LOCALTOPIA has several villages! Check them all out HERE
PLEASE LEAVE PETS AT HOME! Pets present issues with social distancing (e.g. petting brings attendees closer than the recommended safe distance, leashes get tangled and bring attendees closer than the recommended safe distance, etc.). We want everyone to stay safe (both our furry friends, and our human friends)! Thank you for your cooperation!
Every year we try to make our festival as sustainable as possible! As of our 2018 festival. we’ve eliminated single-use plastics & Styrofoam at the event! Not only are vendors committed to eliminating plastic, we’ve also gone one step further. KSPL does a bulk-buy of compostable items for vendors to use.
Our partnership with the City of St. Petersburg’s Sustainability & Resiliency Manager and the Suncoast Surfrider Foundation, allows us to incorporate more sustainable resources & initiatives.
